Lake Siskiyou is a picturesque spot that is an ideal place to catch the sunset! The water here is perfect for swimming in the warmer months and trout can be caught here as well.

The City of Weed started out as a company town as it got its start as a lumber town in the logging industry. In fact, Weed gets its name from the founder of the local lumber mill and pioneer Abner Weed. We can help you explore the history of this charming town.

Below we have listed some of the highlights, but simply ask us and our team will help you explore new found sights - with terrain ranging from forest to even the high desert - and if you like to golf, don’t forget to ask us about that as well.

Hungry? Grab a bite to eat or enjoy some locally brewed beer at the Mt. Shasta Brewery with it’s upbeat atmosphere and great views of the mountain.

Black Butte

Visible from the I-5 Black Butte, this charming landmark is a must see. This mountain may look small compared to Mount Shasta, but none-the-less, it is a landmark worth stopping by. There is a hiking trail here that is open seasonally and it is reserved for advanced hikers.

Lake Shastina

Known for it’s high desert eco-system , you will find a very different landscape when you travel further North to Lake Shastina. When this lake is full, it is ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking, and all sorts of watersports. Low foothills surround the lake making for a pleasing view. It is not uncommon to see wildlife ranging from a variety of bird species to deer here.

Weed Golf Course

Set alongside a creek, this 9-hole golf course in opened in 1927 and carries a 66.7 USGA rating. The course features 2 sets of tees for different skill levels. Enjoy a breath taking view of the mountain while enjoying an afternoon or morning of golf.

Bear Trail

This is a beautiful hiking trail that is managed by the College of the Siskiyous. Enjoy peaks of the college campus and the disc golf course as you go along this forested hike.

We can help you explore McCloud, CA! From incredible nature- including waterfalls and the stunning turquoise waters of the McCloud reservoir- to some great history of Old McCloud, which was know for being a lumber company town- we can show you the hidden gems of this unique Northern California town. Don’t forget to ask your tour guide about the lesser known private Hearst Castle located in McCloud, called “Wyntoon.”

McCloud Falls

A scenic drive from the city of McCloud, the water falls found here are truly spectacular and are a must see. There are three sets of waterfalls, each with it’s own unique qualities.

McCloud Reservoir

With ice cold stunning turquoise waters - Lake McCloud is truly an incredible sight to see. With a winding road around part of the lake, you can admire the stark beauty that it has to offer!

This quaint town has big history as a railroad town that was once booming. Babe Ruth even made an appearance here once by holding an exhibition at the Dunsmuir Baseball Field! The history here is rich, and there are many hidden wonders ranging from breath-taking waterfalls to the magnificent rock formations of Castle Crags. Ask our experts how to see these unique landmarks and more.

Botanic Gardens

Located along the Sacramento river, these botanic gardens make for a beautiful stroll. With 10 acres to explore amidst a wooded area and meadow— this is a must see for garden lovers— especially in spring and summer when flowers are in full bloom!

Hedge Creek

A short, yet semi-steep trail, leads you to this stunning single waterfall. A locals getaway during summer— as the shaded trail and mist from the waterfall a provide a pleasantly cool oasis— and an escape from the heat especially during July and August. Admire the waterfall here, and if you choose to continue the hike you will find a platform with an incredible vista point.

Castle Crags

Six miles south of downtown Dunsmuir, located in Castella, CA Castle Crags state park is a must see. A dramatic rock formation with elevations ranging from 2,000ft to over 6,500 feet.

A unique landscape surrounded by rolling foothills along with a clear views of the magnificent Mount Shasta. Offering an old town feel with plenty of history and here you will also find unique volcanic terrain- perfect to explore!

West Miner Street Historic 

District

Many of the buildings here date back to the 1800’s and carry and interesting history with them! Filled with a plethora of small museums to explore, this is a quaint, but history filled stop!

Greenhorn Park

Built around a reservoir for the Greenhorn Creek, this park offers views of the rolling foothills in the area and a chance to occasionally spot local wildlife- from Canadian geese to deer.

Pluto’s Cave

On the outskirts of Mount Shasta, this cave is a partially collapsed lava tube. For explorers, this is a special chance to explore some of the unusual volcanic landscaping in Siskiyou County.
